Roodfood Politicos

http://latimesblogs.latim...-la-campaign-stop.html California's gubernatorial election is heating up. Republican candidate Meg Whitman ate and stumped at Roadfood hotspot Phillipe the Original. I wonder what's next---Democratic candidate Jerry Brown doing chili dogs at Roadfood fave Pinks?

Since political statements are not allowed on this site, I urge any contributors to this thread to direct their post towards the Roadfood locations of a visit. Do not make a value-judgement of the candidate. Thats the reason for the deletions.

Do not make a value-judgement of the candidate. Thats the reason for the deletions. I, of course, was referring to these two places: Moonbeams Steak House & Pub 301 Buenaventura Blvd., Kissimmee, FL, 34743 (407) 348-3122 Moonbeam Mc Swine's Restaurant 365 E. Hines Hill Rd., Hudson, OH, 44236 (330) 656-1899 I would never make an reference to something political here.

Guess I erred. I had intended that this was more about the visit to a Roadfood listed place than a political debate.

I don't know about Kansas City, or the other BBQ Capitals in the USA, but no candidate for a State-wide office in Kentucky, who really plans to win would not include some footage of the candidate at the Moonlite BBQ in his TV Ads...preferably with a cup of "Burgoo" in his hand ! AND he would be talking to all the 'Joe-The Plumber' stereotypes they could round up for the clip. And on this side of the river one congressional district in Indiana has the Rep. Challenger Candidate using footage of the Dem. Incumbent eating Chinese food with Chopsticks while on a visit to China, as an example of the misplaced loyalties of the guy currently in office. This doesn't translate well in my description, but the TV ADs make the Congressman look like a Lobbyist for the Chinese Government. I guess the other guy should have a KFC leg in his hand ??? It also strikes my funny bone that the clips being used in Offense and Defense before the election will be 'trophies' on the walls of the various restaurants AFTER the person WINS !!! Seldom do we see a follow-up wall record of a losing candidate !! I haven't seen a restaurant with a Photo of a "Loser" from a major political election in all of my RF travels.

Al, what I was saying is that I'd go to Phillipe's. I thought that was clear. Phillipe's always wins over Pink's if it's a choice. However, I also go to Pink's if in the neighborhood and the line is short. LA Roadfood at it's best.

My daughter went to college in New Hampshire and got to see retail politics up very close. Everyone seeking office from Health Board to President knows about getting a nice photo op and getting to meet "real people" at some diner. Let's see how many are interested in meeting "real people" 6 weeks from now. In any case, it is good for business. Lots of places in Iowa and New Hampshire make enough during presidential primaries to stay in business for the next 4 years.

When I was a youngster, We used to crash election night parties. Free beer and hot dogs, and no one checked you ID. We used to try to pick the winners. The losers parties were bummers.

Bill, I'll drink to that! sk bob, I'll respectfully disagree with you. http://www.roadfood.com/R...inks-famous-chili-dogs It's definitely a Roadfood place. I will say that Pink's is one of those places where there seems to be no middle ground. People either love it or hate it.If you don't like itthere are plenty of people who share your opinion. There are plenty who love it too---I was there a few months ago and IMHO, it's as good as ever. There was a time when I worked in that area and I had Pink's at east once a week.
