Look at it this way dw, it can't really get any worse. Wondering if weather had anything to do with that bad day. RJF, next time, hire a dishwasher with a green card, thus avoiding these costly replacement costs.. In all seriousness though, been a gloomy day around here also.. Now that the holidays are over, have to suffer thru January and wait for things to upswing again..

Do you have enough foot traffic? If you do and your allowed to, put some onions, garlic, and green peppers, on a grill, and let them smell it as they walk by.I sometimes run my smoker with nothing in it just so it's smoking. It's the same theory anything to attract attention from the public. In the summer time I've had people pull up to the window and say they turned around and came back because the smoke smelled so good. Jack PS Do the free samples thing it works.

This location will prove in time to work out well. Its a farmers market so the foot traffic this time of year isnt that great but they do alot of buisness from about March on. Ill to this gig Fridays and Saturdays right now to just kind of get myself out there and get my foot in the door. Thanks for the moral support, Dr. I would love to get up your way sometime and eat myself silly, you make it all look so good! dw

DW, If this is any encouragement; this time of year is slow; in retail, real estate, and restaurants. Hang in there! The Dr. is right, samples work! I would also ask them for their e-mail, sending them your menu. You can make business cards on Microsoft publisher. Your expense is good card stock and ink. On the reverse side make a mini menu. I would suggest making up a coupon for a free drink with purchase and hand those out at local businesses targeting employees. Years ago I started to manage a business which was going under. I made up coupons and walked around a mall, inviting every employee to visit and receive a "mall discount". Not only did we pull out of the hole, but did 89% over goal to date, and 125% over year to date! The point is when it is slow to be pro-active and keep positive momentum going. Take Care, Laura

I was forced to try a special shortly after i started my new spot. (and i was opposed to that)but i must say, it is what has really gotten me up and running. So i have "rethunk" the fact that i didn't want to do it.m Hang in there. Good things come to those who wait.
