Ruby Tuesday

I just saw a commercial for Ruby Tuesdays DOUBLE extreme cheeseburger, this goliath makes Hardee's Monster look like a bonbon. A pound of meat? 2 kinds of cheese? held together with a knife down the middle? Good GAWD my jaws ache just lookin at it!! Even the "regular" extreme looked challenging. OK so maybe it was just the tv image and advertisment hype. Anyone tried this or Ruby Tuesday in general? I think I need to pencil this place in for a near future visit..

Must be a regional special, as did not see on corp. website. A word of caution, as RT is just another franchise aka Applebee's & TGIF, etc. Have been the full RT route as that is where my local office USED to like to have luncheons, etc. I am in control now. (hehe). The only thing I have ever found consistent with RT is their salad bar; which is quite good (& expensive). This is one of those things you might want to try one time, but I don't think it would be a "must-eat" for return visits, etc.

As my wife puts it when I like to tease her about stopping at a TGIF, Applebee's, Chili's or a RUBY TUESDAYS......."BARF!!"

IMHO, definitely not worth a trip, no matter what they have to offer.

    Ruby Tuesday's has horrible food.

Anyone who won't give me a rare burger gets that rating, however. F'ing cowards.

I figure they know the quality of their meat ... I guess it is good advice to not take it rare.

RT's is the worst of the bad chains.

I liked RT's about 6 years ago but something has changed and after about 6 dissatisfied stops I gave them up. I go to a local place in Tarpon Springs Florida called Captain Jacks on Alt. Route 19. I think it’s the best in the area and I like sitting outside watching the boats and hearing live music. Worth the stop.

I never cared for Ruby Tuesdays, Applebees, etc. but I used to enjoy TGIF's fajita salad --- then, as often happens, they changed it. It used to be huge and was served in a shell, and was full of avocado, grilled onions, salsa, etc. but the last time I had it (and I don't know if they even serve it anymore) there was no shell and instead little crunchy tortilla strips scattered on top. We've not been back.

RT is pretty retched but I think Applebees is the gold standard in inedible food.

I went to a Ruby Tuesday once in Buffalo. I had a veggie-burger. I enjoyed it, though I don't know whether I'd go there again.

We have a side by side Applebee's and TGIF near my own store. At times when the wait for TGIF spills into the parking lot, you can get immediate seating at Applebee's. I think that most of the Applebee customers are TGIF overflow. TGIF is not that great, but the public seems to like it better than Applebee's

We stayed a night in Emporia VA last Winter. Nothing but national chain fastfood joinys- maybe 20 of them. Applebee's had a line stretching out into the parking lot ( one hour wait , we were told). All of the rest were immediate seating. One has to really worry when Applebee's is the best dining in town.

We had an inedible hamburger and cardboard fries at one of the joints - the milkshake was OK. Discovered the next morning that Ralph's BBQ , a place we really like, was only seven miles to the south.

    Cheers, John

I think Applebee's is C minus grade at best. Definitely not a place for me as I had nothing but poor to below average meals at best there. Tried to give the place a chance and even tried other locations, they were all consistant in my C minus grading." />
