We had a Ruth Chris open up here not to long ago (Huntsville, AL). My son and his wife went for their 3rd anniversary and they absolutely loved it. Both said the steaks were outstanding, the side excellent and their service was great. They made reservations on-line and noticed that when they were seated their napkins on their table were black and that the other tables had white ones. It seems that if you make reservations online and note that it is a special event you get a few little extras (free dessert) and better service. The meal cost them around $160 for two but they said they would definitely go again.

I do not spend that amount of money often but when I do, I want it to be special and good. Paul E. Smith Knoxville, TN

Wasn't it a Ruth's Chris in N.Y. that was closed down because of rats? I recall some news channel setting up their cameras somehow (maybe through the window) and filming all the rats scurrying around after closing. I remember seeing it on the news a few months ago.

Correction, it was in Boston. You can see the film by searching for it.

Are you sure that wasn't KFC??? If you are not sure, you should not be posting what you just think!! Paul E. Smith Knoxville, TN

Here are a few quotes. These are not rumors or what I think. I'm sure. Snopes and truthorfiction need to go in the trash bin and be replaced with Dogpile. They're not very effective. I typed in "Ruth's Chris Rats" and got hits to several sites telling of their rat problem. "In one "revolting rat revelation" (these people love alliteration!), the "Rat Patrol" annoyed Ruth's Chris employees by zooming in on them as they went back and forth from the Dumpster. They're lucky they didn't get punched, but Ruth's Chris got written up for the rats." "The rats were filmed by the television program Inside Edition. Also found with rat problems in Boston: the upscale steak chain known as Ruth's Chris."

It wouldn't surprise me. Ruth's Chris in Boston is located in a beautiful old downtown building which was formerly City Hall. I'm sure you could never completely drive out the rats after that.
