SR-234 in far western IN Thu, 08/20/09 11:54 AM (permalink)
I'm doing a little travelling next week and part of my route will include SR-234 from the IL/IN state line east to US-41, which looks to be roughly 15 miles long and passes through Cayuga, Lodi, Silverwood, and Kingman.  Has anyone ever eaten along this stretch?  Truthfully, I'm not expecting to find much of anything but one never knows...

Brad, I've never been on S.R. 234, but I just looked at it on the map and it appears to be a very minor road ( it's a grey line on there instead of red, and that's not a good sign for roadfood finds. ) I really don't think you should count on finding anything decent to eat between the state line and US 41. I may be wrong in this case, but I'm speaking from many years of experience at exploring the back roads of the midwest and the mid-south. Good luck on the search, though; I hope that you get to prove me wrong on this.

With a population of a little over 1000 Cayuga's the biggest of those towns, so if I'm going to find anything it'll probably be there.  Perhaps the residents go into Illinois to Georgetown or Danville when they get hungry.  And if I don't find anything I'm almost to Turkey Run anyway.

A couple of years ago I took IN-32 from the state line east toward Crawfordsville and it's also a gray line on the map, so I have a rough idea of what 234 might be like.  I get the feeling that it doesn't take a whole lot to qualify as a "state road" in Indiana...
