STARTING A SEAFOOD STAND Sun, 04/6/08 10:17 PM (permalink)
Hello all i am new to the forum but i need your professional input!!!

I am from Illinois and i currently live in NewOrleans LA; As i work at Murphy Oil in Chalmette LA.

My plans are to ship seafood back home to my parents, who are planning to give me a hand. I already have my Known Shippers Acct. with SouthWest Airlines.

The plan is to keep overhead to a minimum and profits optimistic! From the information that i have received so far; I will need a business license in my home town of E.St Louis for $265.

But i will also need to have a $1000 bond and i have no clue who to talk to are where to look. I also need to buy one freezer that can hold about 100lbs of shrimp and that is small and portable.

I also would like some info about registering with the board of health ect ect.

Your bond will come from your insurance agent. But where exactly do you live in the East St Louis area, what county? If it's Fulton County they are really easy to do business with. If not all you need do is find the phone number for your area county (that you'll be selling in) Health Department. Heck you could probably make great money as a wholesaler to the local restaurants in the East St Louis area. When was the last time you were home? That area is growing by leaps and bounds especially near Collinsville and south.

    Try Zoning and Code Enforcement
