Who DIDN'T cry when Old Yeller died?? And yes, Bambi and Dumbo had their tender moments. I'm such a sap that I once teared up during an episode of "Little House on the Prairie", so I may not be the best judge. Brian's Song (the original with James Caan) is one I remember. ("I loved Brian Piccolo".) Regarding Henry is one that I just watched again recently. Still cried in parts.

Passion of the Christ Apollo 13 -- seeing Ed Harris almost lose it gets me every time Henry V -- when they sing Dona Nobis Dominae Hell, I'll cry over a repeat of CSI or M*A*S*H too. I cry over books, commercials with puppies, you name it. Usually I can hide it though. Suck it up, suck it UP!

I understand this thread but I have to tell you that I totally detest sad and depressing movies. I do not watch them. I have had enough sadness to last me a double lifetime. Paul E. Smith Knoxville, TN

We happy few. We band of brothers. For he that fights with me this day shall be my brother." Death of Melanie in "Gone with the Wind." Indiana Jones running for the Grail to save his Dad. I cry even at Hallmark commercials.

There's a scene in the movie Whale Rider where the main character tries to give a speech and notices the person she wants most to hear it isn't in the audience. She tries to continue but starts to break down. Keisha Castle Hughes was only 13 or so when she starred in this movie and she does such a fantastic job in this scene. Just the opening line of her speech gets me every time. "My name is Paikea Apriani and I come from a long line of chiefs..." Sniff! Sob! The end of a Christmas Story, with Ralphie asleep clutching his Red Ryder BB Gun and his parents downstairs sitting close to each other and just watching the snow fall, gets to me too. I love that movie. It's a such a shame the director was killed in a car accident just a couple weeks ago. More as I think of them. Dumbo. The scene where he visits his mom while she's locked up. The song Baby Mine just kills me. Walkabout. I stared at the wall for about 20 minutes after the end of this one. So sad.

The Trip to Bountiful. Geraldine Page stars as an elderly woman who lives with her son in the city, but is desperate to go back to the home where she was brought up and lived most of her life. She slips away from her son and his self-absorbed wife, catches a bus, and makes the trip. But when she finally reaches her destination, she discovers that the old house is empty and falling down, and there is pretty much nothing left of the place except her memories. In the end, she is forced to leave the place she has always considered home, and return to her son's cramped apartment in the city, and a life where she feels like an interloper. I bawled like a baby as they were driving away from the place that was once called Bountiful.

Jmckee -- thanks for correcting me on the song name from Henry V. I also loved his speech at the castle wall -- "Once more into the breach!" Steel Magnolias -- when they turn off the life support and the whole ensuing scene afterward.

I can think of several but how about... Epilogue to "Schindler's List" were the survivors place stones on his grave. Intro to "Saving Private Ryan" where soldier, now an old man, visits the graves of his comrades in Normandy. The doomed charge in "Gallipoli".
