A Samurai Sam's Teriyaki Grill just opened in Somers Point NJ. Has anyone had any experience with this chain?

Thanks, but I have seen the menu. I was hoping to hear from someone who has been there, and tried the food. The wakisoba sounds good to me. I guess that's what I will have when I get there.

It's been about 5 years or so, but I remember going to the one in Manhattan Beach, CA. Looks like they try and open in nice looking shopping centers.
I remember liking it.....and you can't go too wrong for the price to try it, ChrisOC!
So let us know what you think, OK ?!?
(and we're practically neighbors; I'm in Egg Harbor Township!)
I did'nt even realize they just opened that new Somers Point location. I'll have to check it out. Guess it's in that Shop Rite supermarket plaza where the Five Guys , Mack and Mancos Pizza, and Philly Pretzel is!

Its almost nextdoor to Five Guys. We haven't been there yet, kids and grand kids have been down. We do plan to go soon, it's on my list

We went to Samurai Sam's in Somers Point for lunch today. Overall We enjoyed it. You have to be careful not to expect food you would get at a high end Hibachi grill. This is fast food, but it is a healthy altenative to cheese burgers and fries. I had a chicken Waki Soba bowl, with chicken, noodles, fresh veggies (carrot, zuchini, a little bell pepper and onion)The chicken was tender and juicy, the veggies fresh and crisp and the noodles were good, not soggy. It comes with a tasty teriyaki sauce and some extra on the side.
On the down side, while the bowls are prepared to order, what goes in them is not, nothing went on the grill while we waited for our food.
Also the help was cold almost to the point of being rude. There was no other customers in the place and I got the feeling the help didn't feel to happy to see us. I am sure that this is just the one store and it won't stop us from going back, but if they want more business the should be a little friendlier.

              HI again, ChrisOC,
Appreciate you reporting back on your Samurai Sam's experience.
It's great to see a follow-up...(often that is not the case!!)

I'm getting a bad taste in my mouth just thinking about the rude help there. (that is one of my big pet peeves!!!)
I agree with you that being a little friendlier is advisable!!!
It would'nt hurt to crack a smile, even if you have to force it,and to make sure to say "thank you" to the customer. I also like hearing "have a nice night"....
It's a shame , cause I generally have good experiences with the supermarkets, shops, and take out restaurants in the Atlantic County area. Most of the time I DO get that "have a good night"...
I guess if we want to feel welcomed, we need to go right next door to Five Guys, where the help is so friendly!! So the move is to order food at Samarai Sam's , and while it's being put together, go next door to Five Guys to get the fountain soda (assuming one is not in the mood for the burger)
At least one will get the good vibes from the Five Guys staff... (they're just as friendly in the Absecon location, as well.)

There is a big difference between an efficient, no frills diner waitress, and an unfriendly counterperson. Often diner waitresses may not smile, etc, but they take care of business, and are straight shooters.... and you'll still get the "thank you"...
Even the NYC deli countermen I've had lately are producing "good vibes". They tend to not be the smiley type either, as it's a high paced operation.

Hey, SAMURAI SAM'S, put empasis on having FRIENDLY employees, you hear?!???!!!!!
