No cats but my ugly dog Angel is now 17.  She still chases squirrels but has never caught one.

As a kid a friend had a cat that lived to 21. My friend's dad always said it lived so long out of spite.

Hell, I've got socks older than that. And I don't have to feed them bacon.

As long as you don't have underpants older than that...If you do, I'll bet they have Bacon grease stains!

Our Siamese made it a few months past 21 and the Korat to 18. I'd consider that very long lives had they not slept through most of it.

I had a cat that was with us for 16 years. We got him as a kitten from a litter of 12, When we got him he was so tired the kids would drape him around their necks and he'd just sleep there. Thus his name: Miltown. He was one tough, white, longhaired cat. When we lived in the Virgin Islands he'd kill mongooses and bring home to us.

2/ Clyde, our Welsh farm cat kitten, was with is us for 2 years in the UK then imported into the US at no mean expense for another 18 years.  We tried to find a few companions for him after his sister Bonnie became a hood ornament, but none ever worked out. The series of bunny and birds eyes "presents" on the back mat dwindled in his older years, but we never worried about mice

After a little thought I realize that our Snuggles is about 15 years old. She hates my daughter's dog Teddy and I suppose that she will try to outlive him and the rest of us. Teddy is terrified of her! We adopted a black cat named Odille( the black swan in Swan Lake) a few years ago. She was a kitten from a feral cat. Her mom had her kittens in a shed. The owner of the property asked her grandchildren to gather the kittens because she was worried about them in the coming winter season  and it was a nasty winter here that year. They caught all but one. We found Odille on Craigslist. My daughter Emily had read that black cats were hard to adopt because of superstition. So, we adopted her.  She has been a joy and she and Teddy get along OK. She was way too young to be taken away from her mom so she really bonded with my daughter Emily. I guess she sees Emily as her Mom.
And Snuggles? Well as I said she will outlast all of us out of spite! I do have an affection for that old girl! I love someone who has staying power!

14 cats?!  I hate to think of the litter boxes.   We have one, Bella, that I gave to my mom for Mother's Day a few years ago.  Mom is in assisted living so we of course took Bella.  Shhhhhhhh......don't tell anyone but Michael has been seen kissing Bella.  Yep, the curmudgeon!  We both adore her.
