Arnie,

Bad circumstances precluded us taking a trip today. Hope to give it a shot next weekend if you're out. Glad to see that things are going so well on the new adventure!

      Hi Arnie!

I'm getting ready to start my HD cart too! I have been following your posts and I noticed that you are using Vienna beef hd. I want to use Vienna for my cart too. I tried emailing them but haven't gotten a reply yet. Maybe it's because of Labor day.

Do you have a local distributor or are you dealing with Vienna directly? How do I find a distributor in my area? I'm in Charlotte, NC. Do the dogs come frozen? What are the hd flavors that you got? what about the prices?

      Sorry for so many questions!
Thanks so much and congrats on your success!!!

Keep calling Vienna until you get the name of the rep covering your area.

I use a food distibutor like Sysco or Martin Foods. Check restaraunt depot if there is one in your area. They may have Vienna. I like Vienna , they hold up well in my steamers.

        Dogs and buns come frozen.

        Good luck

        Arnie

Screw the Q and go with the kraut. One, if you throw out a 1/6 pan of meat vs. a 1/6 pan of kraut. 2. how many people will be disapointed when they cant get kraut on a dog-- a bunch! I have often said, I would rather run out of ketchup than kraut because the kraut people can be vicious. 3. how much time do you spend making BBQ vs. kraut? I did the BBQ thing for a bit, and it was awesome, I mean really awesome and I loved hearing about it. But, it when it came to dollars and cents, it wasnt a great thing when you take the time and labor included. Just my thoughts, you have a good deal going from what I see, KISS( keep it simple stupid) the Big E

It would be kinda silly to have a Vienna umbrella, on a Sabrett cart.

                            I bet they do, Curbside!

I have never been to Texas. After reading up on the history of Texas BBQ, I would LOVE to take a trip to Lockhart.

Then I could swing by and visit my friend who has a hot dog cart. I think he sells CSD'S, but I am not sure.

Well, good news! I finally found a way to get a cart going here. My oldest son will be in charge of it. He will be up and running after the winter is over. We have not decided on a menu yet. Ray really loves the idea of serving CSD'S. He is very excited. I am excited for him.

I will start a thread about it, soon and put up pics of Ray's cart. It is very cute.

Was born there TX and don't think Arnie would take offense to that. They don't have street food there? Have young lady (17) here that bought a used cart and is set up north of town. Gets all the tourist on the weekends. Her Father keep coming around always with questions for the longest time. Funning thing is her grandmother had a restaurant and sold that about 5 yrs. ago. She was pretty well known for her country cooking.

Plenty of street food. Very difficult to get a permit, for anything other than private events, festivals, etc.

                                  Hi CC,
Devil Dog here. I see your in Bayonne. I'm located in South Jersey.(North Jersey transplant) I'm still working on getting my cart up and running. (commissary, health inspection, etc.) What have you found out about starting your cart? I would be interested in hearing.
