What company makes the best B.B.Q. sauce, and where can you get it? I collect, and am looking for new and better ones, that I don't now have. I have well over one hundred now, but still looking for more.

You might not like the one I consider "the best" be it store bough, restaurant based or my own private recipe.

As others have said, it's all very subjective. From this site I learned about Head Country. Their "hot flavor" is fantastic. Fortunately I can get this at my local supermarket. As far as nationwide, Sweet Baby Rays is my favorite. On another note, I've realized I use BBQ for nothing other than dipping sauce. To me, dry rub is the only way to do BBQ.

How 'bout Show-Me--It's real sweet, too sweet really, until you char it a little around the edges, then I love it. It's available from Harry Berrier, 1250 Cedar Grove Blvd. So., Columbia, MO 65201. Maurice's--A yellow sauce from one of the Carolinas, Hickory variety is my fave. 1-800-Maurices or Maurices.com. Famous Dave's--Rich & Sassy is my favorite variety, it's a small, but good chain in Minnesota and surrounding states. The label says distributed by Famous Products, Inc., 952-746-8800. Or try famousbbq.com. Roadhouse--(See other recent thread on Roadfood about their roadtrips), I like their hotter version. It's a little bit chunky, has a couple unusual ingredients, like pineapple and raisins. I got mine on mohotta.com and they list several other websites on that thread, and it also sounds like it is in stores all around upper midwest.

Mrs. QFan and I are very partial to Stubbs--both the original and spicy. In fact we're doing ribs today and we mix the Stubbs with just a little Heinz 57 and some Panola mild pepper sauce. Hope you and yours have some great Que over the holiday!! QFan Bonita Springs, FL

It's funny that you posted this as I felt that I could start a thread titled "Too Much Sauce" It struck me this holiday weekend that I have too many different brands to choose from. There are about four already opened and another three or so waiting in the cabinet. Whats more, is that I have ingrediants to make my own versions that don't appear on the shelves. One is a Cola BBQ and the other is my Korean short rib sauce. But it gets worse as I have Asian flavors as a Thai marinade/sauce, Chinese rib sauce, Duck sauce and Mae Ploy sweet chili garlic sauce. I have about five different steak sauces and two types of ketchup. One being the good ol' American brand and another being an Indonesian brand called Sambal Manis Pedas. It is a hot sweet and spicy sauce that is great on fries... I am not so bad about mustard as I have about four different brands and also dried mustard which I add water to when I have eggrolls... mark
