Sausage vs Hotdogs whats your say
Thu, 03/8/12 4:08 PM

Howdy you all from sunny arizona Since eating bbq 25 years ago or more i discovered great sausage and gave up hot dogs. I don't eat hot dogs unless I am forced too because sausage is so much tastier in a bun then a hot dog. What do you say?

They both have their own place in the Sun. There's a time for dogs and a time for sausage---sometimes it's a time for both!

Yep.each has its place..........and some days I like a steak, somedays a burger. It's the quality of the product that seems to matter more

What you grew up with or where you live could also be a factor. I could easily live the rest of my days without any sausage...gladly.

When I was a child I thought as a child, ate as a child. Now that I am a man I eat sausage. (Wait a minute, that sounds terribly wrong! ) Anyways ... give me kielbassa or Italian Sausage - or even a brat - over "hotdogs" anytime.

There are some very high quality and tasty franks that I have access to living in New Jersey. But I love sausage too; especially bratwurst. Hard to say which is better. It's like comparing apples and oranges. And this is coming from someone who loves to eat hot dogs more than anything else.

For a different type of sausage treat,,,,,,but one that will shame any dog or other sausage combo forever, when in SEMA or RI try and find a Linguica sandwhich with sauce.........the Linguica is to die for, loaded with garlic and paprika, and the sauce, usally tomato based but with lots of yummy additions, will set your taste buds free! Hard to find......but when you do...... it is almost always sensational

It's probably my NYC upbringing that has me preferring dogs to brats.

We have a local company that makes Italian sausage in the same shape as their signature hot dogs (longer and a little thinner than a traditional sausage). Best of both worlds! Though I can't say as if I prefer one over the other, just depends on my mood.

Brats. Hands down. Brats with kraut at Miller Park. Hot dogs are for those "southerners" from Chicago.

I'll throw my two cents in. Some days I crave the Chicago dog with the neon relish and sport peppers, then there's the sausage at Smitty's in Lockheart, and other days it's a drive to Stuffed on 620 for Boudin.

Hot Dogs and sausage is like comparing steak and hamburger. I like hot dogs and sausage, they both have a place in my eating world. I like a good steak but also love a good hamburger. Whats nice about living in the USA is, we have the opportunity to enjoy many choices, you don't have these choices in a lot of countries...............pnwc

Both ,thank you,if the quality is there . Ate somewhere recently that is known for sauce, which lived up to it's reputation . However , the dog was disappointing . And, for me,it's all about the quality of the basic product ..

According to many studies they will both kill you..that being said I love a good crisp hot dog in a steamed bun with some kraut , but on my last week of meals list would have to be a jersey boardwalk style sausage, pepper and onion sand with a little marinara- what a way to go!

Where I live hot dogs are king, but I really love both. Around here it's hard enough to choose between red or white hots, usually I go for 1 red & 1 white. God bless meat in casings.
