My sister lived in New Jersey for years and keeps telling me about these great Schickhaus Hot Dogs. I have had relatives and friends in the New Jersey/New York area to look for them but have been unable to find them. They are apparently no longer in grocery stores. Can anyone tell me where to find them? I would like to order some for her.

Max's Hot Dogs in Long branch N.J. has schickhaus franks from Houston, Texas. You might have to go to Max's,to get them though.I don't know if they would ship them.I haven't seen them in grocery stores either.

The A & P by my neck of the woods (northern NJ-Jersey City store and Laurence Harbor) have a nice stock (as of 08/25/07) stock of Shickhaus dogs. Other A&P's as well as Shoprite, may have them.

Just about every Shoprite has them in stock, but they are in the deli case, not the area with the regular hotdogs.

These fine folks actually manufacture the Schickhaus frankfurters; contact them to see if they can offer any other suggestions for where to get them:

I have asked one of my local ShopRites to order these, and they never did. I've eaten them twice at Max's and can't forget how good they are. Well, we have another ShopRite opening imminently even closer, with a different owner, so I will ask again - and I think I may have bigger pull this time, as my daughter just got hired for their deli dept. Wish me luck here in South Jersey being able to buy them.

Shoprite in Sayreville has them in the deli section. Small package , ya gotta look for them ... They are good!

Most Shop Rites have Schickhaus. If not with the regular hot dogs, try the deli dept. or ask. It's not unusual to find hot dogs in 3 or 4 different places in one store.

Schickhaus franks are no longer being made by Grote & Weigel. They are now being produced by Armour-Eckrich.
