Scott's BBQ Lexington TN Wed, 05/8/13 7:30 PM (permalink)
Many years ago on the inaugural episode of the Glee Club, The Mayor, Bushie, Poverty Pete, Pogophiles and some forgotten dude from Kentucky attempted to visit far more BBQ places than our system would endure.  I think we did four.  One of them was Scotts BBQ in Lexington TN.  It was in our top two.  It might have rated higher but unfortunately the first stop was so good that we OD'd.  That BBQ where we overdosed was Lexington BBQ whose owner later sold and the quality diminished.

The owner died this past week and was memorialized by the Southern Food Alliance.

That, Paul, is a powerful piece of writing, and a wonderful tribute. Thank you for sharing it with us.

Thanks for sharing that with us, Paul. I remember that day well. You are correct, Scott's scored second on our list of stops that day. But I don't remember the food at all. Was that the last stop of the day, where Jim took his "Nose-Dive" while waiting for his food? or was Scott's the first stop before we found our way to Dennis Hays Legendary stand??
RIP Scott, I look forward to some Heavenly Ribs when (if) I arrive.

Al:  that was our second stop.  The third stop was at my three sons.  Terrible.  The last stop I forgot the name but it was pretty good with a nice tour of his smokers and the dude from Kentucky took a dive.  Great loss I am sorry to say.
