Seattle don't miss burger spots?

Will be going to Seattle in June to visit Olympic national park - anyone have any good recommendations in the area, especially on the way to the park (Port Angeles) or the city itself? I am up for the works - vintage greasy spoons, diners, good fast food and higher end burger spots. Thanks and appreciate any suggestions!

I don't know about burgers specifically, but I would guess that anything and everything you could possibly want can be found at Pike Place Market. Be sure to have a Piroshky. Here is a thread from my visit.

In the trip reports forum, i brought up a thread that was a pretty full discussion of the food available in Port Angeles. The Frugal Burger in Port Angeles was the only place fellow Roadfooder Trudyn(Mrs. Chips) and I liked much in the area.

downtown Seattle is probably worth a visit. I was there with some relatives with much more experience than I had and I remember you needing to be a little familiar with the menu before you got to the window, but it wasn't a big hassly type thing. Get onions (they're like five cents extra) and a chocolate shake. And linger a bit to watch the very impressive assembly line:

Don't forget the Red Mill Burgers in Seattle. It's reviewed here and it was on Man Vs. Food. Hubbie Jim(Mr Chips) loves the onion rings.

Kidd Valley is owned by the folks who own ivar's and is the burger sold at Safeco field. It is still decent.

There is a very old saloon in the Georgetown area of Seattle, Jules Maes, that has great burgers and possibly the best meatloaf sandwich I've ever tasted. Good tater tots, too!

Red Mill is, IMO, okay. It wouldn't rank very high in any other town. Seattle is not an epicenter of RF, again, IMO. So long as you are going that far, go the extra mile to MIke's Chili in Ballard.
