Self cleaning oven question

I have a Jenn-Air electric oven - I'm wondering if I could put some of the range top pieces into the oven for a cleaning cycle without destroying them? I'm thinking specifically about the grill grates and the drip pan under it...no amount of scouring seems to clean these things off completely...

i'd contact jenn-air directly and ask them...or look in your owners manual if you have it. discoloration may occur if you put the pieces in and they aren't made to handle such high heat for such an extended period of time.

What I do in my self-cleaning oven is leave my pizza stone in. It does a great job of cleaning it. It is the best way because you should never get a stone wet or use detergents on them.

we clean our burner grates and bibs by putting them in a trash bag and putting in a cup of amonia, regular brand no lemon scented.and tie the bag up and let it sit overnight in the sink.works great.

You know, that's a great tip. I could never figure a way to adequately clean my pizza stone. Thanks, Pigiron

Just wondering, Vince, did you ever try this? The idea just occurred to me the other day and your message came up when I googled. It would be great to just stick those grungy grill grates in the oven and get them clean again.
