Setting up a blog Fri, 03/16/07 1:36 AM (permalink)
So when we were brainstorming features of Roadfood and the concept of a blog came up, it sounded like fun. I don;t know if they will ever do it, but it will take some time if they do. I am thinking we should set up food blogs and try to link to eachother.

Does anyone have ideas about which is best...Blogspot, Livejournal, etc??? Which is easiest for uploading photos?

Is that really your picture? If so, please be careful and don't wear polyester when fanning the flames. Immolation ain't no fun!

        Tony,
Sorry Buddy. The picture is of the grandmother of a noted Washington Bureaucrat and former Roadfood Poster. He now pimps family portraits to unsuspecting ebay buyers on the internet.

It's OK Elise, Kurt has scammed me more than once in his career too!
But seriously. Nice job on the BLOG set-up. When you have time checkout the one that Travelin' Man (Stevekoe) has set up. He has been up and running for quite some time and has a great journal running.

          Could you provide the link?

Could everyone with a blog please provide a link to theirs if they are willing?

I found Blogspot supereasy to set up. My friends say they prefer Livejournal since you can search for your friends and "save" or "befriend" them on your page, but I didn;t like the layout as well, and there were a lot more ads.

Here is a link to Steve's BLOG (at least to one entry on it). I assume you can get to the other entries by clicking around on this one. I have a bit of difficulty with the black background and light colored printing for some of the stuff. It seems hard for me to focus..but the reports are great.

I've been blogging the breaded pork tenderloin sandwiches since November at this site...

              http://web.mac.com/davydd/iWeb/Site/Pork%20Tenderloin%20Sandwich%20Blog/Pork%20Tenderloin%20Sandwich%20Blog.html

or you can find it by going to porktenderloinsandwich.com

I set mine up with iWeb part of the iLife '06 suite of applications that come on new Macintoshes and use Apple's .Mac service. It was mindboggling easy to do. Coming up with subject matter and writing is the hard part. I should have a new entry up sometime this weekend. My site is commecial free but I know of at least four other blog sites that have linked my site now including the Travelin' Man's. I have been thinking of returning the courtesy.

If you subscribe to the e-mail version of Steve's blog you won't miss an episode and the e-mail is sent with white background and plain text, which may be easier on some eyes.

                    I have a blog on livejournal.com; it's: http://tarragon918.livejournal.com

I don't normally post about roadfood there, though! [:0)] But feel free to wander over and comment on any post. *laughs* Current posts relate to my woes at trying to get a broadband connection. Hopefully, cable modem will be the answer!

What a prescient topic -- I just started a blog today! My address is: http://rxwench.blogspot.com. Feel free to stop by. My first entry is very general in nature, but I'll be filling in more info down the road.
