Shoney's Mushroom Swiss Burger

I live in middle Tennessee (Crossville) and go to Shoneys every so often. Tuesday evening we stopped in, and I got the Mushroom-Swiss burger. It was great...one of the best burgers that I've ever tasted!

A nice patty of beef with two slices of swiss, and just the right amount of mushroom gravy (with freshly chopped mushrooms) to make it a tad messy. It was a 4 napkin burger, for sure. Also got a side of onion rings which were just perfect IMO. I like them not too thick, not too thin, with a light crunchy batter!

I will be back to purchase this again...maybe even tonight!

That DOES sound good Andy! I wonder if Shoneys are in Texas?

there used to be one on central expressway
and plano parkway, but i have no idea
if it's still open and there's one in galveston.

Looks like only 4 left in Texas, none in Dallas or Galveston, unless I messed up somehow at the web site.

i've been away from texas too long.

I haven't seen a Shoney's in forever. They used to be all around Lexington, KY, but then disappeared entirely. I remember some even had motels attached, fittingly named "Shoney's Inn." I remember loving their ribs and their breakfast buffet.
