Just under 600 miles if we go via Columbus, Ohio and about 75-80 miles shorter if we use the KY/WV rural Interstates. May go one way, then come home the shorter route.

Al, whatever you do, stay off U.S. 30 in Pennsylvania. get on the Pennsylvania Turnpike (I-76) and head south on U.S. 15 when you get to Harrisburg. It takes you directly to Chubby's. U.S. 30 is ort of pretty, but with just one truck in front of you on this curvy two lane it is Hell.

We will probably return to I-70 in Ohio and take 15 up from Hagerstown. I am familiar with that ride. It really depends on where we wind up Saturday. Janet wants to shop the Ohio Amish stores before heading into PA .
May stay in the Wheeling area

I'm thinking this.......let's all meet at Chubby's around 1:00PM on June 15.  We can socialize for an hour then do some serious damage to Tom's BBQ around 2:00 until we can't eat another bite.

Lisa, if you start drinking at 1PM, that will be 4 or 5 hours later than Tom starts!

That's OK, I can continue 4 or 5 hours after he passes out......don't forget, slow and steady wins the race!

We rode with Lisa in Alaska a couple times.
Even Stone Sober (all of us) it was a Life-Altering experience !
Making her the Designated Driver
for the June Gathering could be another
Roadfood "First".

What?  You didn't like me driving 55 MPH through the Whittier Tunnel?  " />   Good thing I was on galley duty and not driving the boat when we went out fishing!  I drive so fast you could've water skied through Prince William Sound!

Hey, it's only a 3 mile tunnel, cut through a mountain, shared by the Alaska Railroad and kind of "drippy".  It's Alaska!  We love stuff like this!

Think about sharing a two-lane road in a 3 mile long tunnel with a rail line running where the double yellow traffic lane painted lines "should" be.... wondering if that tall headlite coming at you is a truck coming  in the opposite lane... or PERHAPS a train loaded with L P Gas Tank Cars leaving you a 32" clearence on your side of the rails... and Lisa reaching all over the dashboard for the glasses she for got to put on when she entered the tunnel ...

OK It will be that Sunday afternoon, the time and dress to be "casual" But taking up most of the afternoon after One PM.  Birthday/Roadfood Theme.

C'mon Al, the tunnel isn't that bad.  Well, it is kind of creepy.  But I went down to the boat with my friend Susan one weekday afternoon.......nobody in front of me........and I floored it and went 70 mph through there!  Hey, it's Alaska!

Dress is "casual"?  I just got my gown pressed and my tiara is ready to go.  Then there are the glass slippers.  Sheesh.  Guess I have to wear shorts.

So you're saying I can go topless and barefoot?  Works for me!  I gave away my Amish bonnet and long dress with apron when I moved in with MH.

We will have a new family member with us on this weekend sojourn. On the way over on Saturday the 14th, we will stop in Centerburg, Ohio for our annual check of the family burial sites and marker stones (including our own. After that we will make our way to a small town near the PA border where a breeder will have our new Cairns Terrier ready to travel with us. We selected him today and are working with the gentleman who owns the kennel to have this eight week old terrier ready to go in a couple of weeks. We are very excited about adding a young Cairns to our family. They are great companions.  We will have a travel crate for him so that he won't disturb the group at Lisa's Party.
Lisa perhaps we can repeat your famous DUFFY photo from 10 years ago with the "new pup"??
Here's our new pup, as yet un-named.

Ohhhh, I want that pup! He is sssooo sweet. Goo, goo, darling. How did you pose him there. How about Toto, then you can quote or paraphrase the movie as you travel, "Toto, I don't think we're in Kansas any longer", ect. Come to think of it , he's a cute little 'Munchkin', isn't he? Yes, you're right, I'm a huge fan of the movie. My gad, look at that face.... And those eyes.... and that....!

How adorable!.......No matter what his 'official name" and family name becomes, some of us will always know him as "lil Chubby"...........since "Lil Lisa" isn't gonna work.

Glad to see the add!

His Father was "TOTO II" with Championship lines.

We are big fans of the TV series "NCIS" and are seriously considering either "Jethro" or "Duckie" as appropriate titles.
Later this Fall a Wheaten/Black-Brindle colored Female Cairns will also join the family. We will be looking for one with good breeding lines. She will be "Abby".

Man, I guessed awful close to his father's name, didn't I! Kind of spooky except I suppose there are probably a fair number of Cairns named Toto.

That would be awesome if you could make it to Chubby's!!!    About meeting Mr. Hoffman, I dunno, don't get your hopes up.  He's still the same 'ol curmudgeon he always was!

Lisa, I'm heart broken!  Just realized that the 15th is Father's Day!  I can't abandon my rug rats on FD   Well, if you head North, maybe we can meet somewhere in between  Joe

We kinda figured that.......the other day I said, "Oh, my birthday falls on Father's Day this year!"  (It was Father's Day when I was born.)  MH replied, "I bet that will keep some folks at home instead of going to Chubby's."  I'll let you know our travel route and perhaps we can meet.
