Sign of the Times

Just saw a Miracle Whip commercial.

The guy in the commercial put cole slaw on his burger in the restaurant and then took a picture of it.

The Gahanna Grill puts coleslaw on their famous Beanie Burger.
Even though I got a camera for Christmas, I would never, ever take pictures of food.

(Some just do not appreciate irony or sarcasm, including my three ex-Mrs. Metros.  As I can't afford another divorce I do not subject Mrs. Metro IV to that particular aspect of my fine Pittsburgh heritage.)

    Freak.

What kind of person puts slaw on a burger?

And that is the point of the commercial - What kind of freak uses Miracle Whip instead of mayo?

    Well, me - for one.
Nothing like a baked ham sandwich with leaf lettuce and Miracle Whip.
And potato salad with Miracle Whip is soooooo much tastier than if it was made with mayo!

I'm sure that this post will be followed by several who will judge me a freak.
To them I will quote the motto of E.I. du Pont de Nemours & Company:  "Better living through Chemistry!".

Mar, I am very upset. Any time that I even see the title of this thread, I get Petula Clark singing in my head:

It's a sign of the times
That your love for me is getting so much stronger
It's a sign of the times
And I know that I won't have to wait much longer
You've changed a lot somehow from the one I used to know-oh-oh
For when you hold me now it feels like you never want to let me go

It's a sign of the times
That you call me up whenever you feel lonely
It's a sign of the times
That you tell your friends that I'm your one and only
I'll never understand the way you treated me-ee-ee
But when I hold your hand I know you couldn't be the way you used to be

    refrain
Maybe my lucky star at last decided to shine
Maybe somebody knows how long I've waited to make you mine, mm, mm, mm

On Sandwiches, I prefer Mayo, but for 55 years, my wife makes her salads - Potato, macaroni, etc. with Miracle Whip and it hasn't killed me!

Ed Sails, we're you Downtown when you first saw this thread?

I wondered when the mayonnaise/Miracle Whip angle would appear.

Best Foods for me or Duke's when I can get it.

Sharon puts Miracle Whip on bologna sandwiches.

So I looked at it, and the first song is Muskrat Love. Bonnie, you've met me. Would you wish Muskrat Love's lyrics in anyone's head that you've met?
