Simple Salmon

Try this y'all and adapt to your tastes.

Take fresh salmon steaks, coat with extra virgin olive oil, sprinkle with Old Bay seasoning, allow to set for 1 hour, and grill over low heat on all sides until exterior looks done. Try not to overcook. Salmon should flake easily and be moist in the center.

Olive oil prevents sticking and helps keep spices on the fish. Place directly on grill rack use tongs to turn.

Even more simple.....move to Alaska, buy a boat, invite fellow Roadfooders Redpatti and Jeff to come up. Let them catch 12 salmon (the limit) then fire up the boat grill that they bought you, filet one of the salmon on the new filet table that they bought you, grill the fish filets, a little salt and pepper and a good squish of lemon. Kick back and eat and enjoy the sights of Prince William Sound!

Al, that sounds like my one and only Alaska fishing adventure.

Leave Homer and ride forever. Catch one halibut that barely had its eyes open, then ride forever back to Homer.

Gee, that sounds a lot like what we do with the salmon we catch on Lake Ontario and Lake Michigan -- except for the sights.

Try drizzling either ranch or blue cheese dressing over grilled salmon.
