I've enjoyed a variation of this that substituted Chamborg (raspberry liquor) for the triple sec. I think they called a "Chamberry".

Mmmmmmmmmmm, Chambord.    You can make Magic Martinis with it!!!!

Pineapple juice
Ketel One vodka
Chambord

Shake, fill martini glasses, watch them disappear!!!!!

Makers Mark Bourbon and water before dinner and a few home brews with dinner. Maybe a glass of home brewed wine courteously from the In-Laws.

Most of the family will be drinking various wines but I'll be enjoying beer and looking forward to mom's oyster dressing!

I think I'll be breaking out a sixer of this Frankensteinian concoction (as posted on SeriousEats.com):

I've always wanted to try their crazy holiday concoctions...I'd even dare the Tofurky and Gravy flavors. It's of to Target. Has anyone tried any of the weird ones?

Just out of curiosity, what is the best wine to serve with a turkey dinner? I always thought a white wine was supposed to be served with poultry but I personally favor red wines. So is that appropriate?

A little off the beaten-path of traditional wine but right in your neighborhood...

WineHaven Winery & Vineyard in Chisago City MN makes a cranberry wine that would be a great match with Thanksgiving. Their Slippery Slope ice wines (for or with dessert) are   fantastic.

Update: We found the WineHaven Winery Cranberry wine and we also found another cranberry wine by Forestedge Winery in Laporte, MN way up north near Bemidji. The Forestedge cranberry wine is a semi-dry wine and the cranberry taste is very subtle. I haven't uncorked the Winehaven one yet. Wines in the upper Midwest have improved since the old days of overly sweet wines made from various fruits. Minnesota has 38 vineyards now owing to the development of grape vines by the University of Minnesota Landscape Arboretum just south of where we live that can now withstand 35 below temperatures. Wines overall have improved tremendously since my younger years of Mogen David, Mateus and chiantis in bottles only appropriate for later sticking a candle in them.

Bloody Mary or Mimosa before the meal; ponot noir with the meal; coffee with dessert.
