Slater's 50/50 blends beef and bacon into a delicious combination

Last night I went to Slater's 50/50, a local restaurant with 4 locations. I had tried some of their things before at the Orange County Restaurant Week Launch Party but this is the first time I'd gone there. I am sorry I waited so long! The 50/50, for those who may not know, refers to their signature hamburger patty, a mix of 50% ground beef and 50% ground bacon. What a combination!

We started out with a cocktail. I had the----yes, it really is----the Bacon Old Fashioned.

Delicious, with bacon infused whiskey. Next, our appetizers came. I had the Chicken Fried Bacon

Kathi had the Siriacha Chicken Wings.

They were really tasty. For our main dish, Kathi had the Coffee Rub Burger.

I got another of their specials, the Bison Bacon Meatloaf with Bacon Mac and Cheese. Anybody seeing a theme here?

This was what they called bone in and indeed it was. Inside the loaf was a marrow bone filled with delicious marrow.

The combination of lean, flavorful bison and fatty bacon made for a really delicious, moist meatloaf.
Yummy yum yum!

For dessert, Kathi got what they called the Cocorama. Yes, that's a Girl Scout cookie on top.

I got the Bananas Foster Milk Shake.

It was really delicious. Needless to say, it was a delicious dinner!

YUM is all I can say.  I saw a segment about Slater's 50/50 on the Travel Channel.  Everything looked really good.  But your pictures blow the Travel Channel's out of the water!!!! Chicken Fried Bacon??  Really?  I have to go there one day!

lleechef, yes, Chicken Fried Bacon. What an awesome idea!

ChiTownDiner, I can't wait to explore the rest of the menu. Sitting at the bar eating, I was practically ready to grab the burger that the guy two seats away from me had!

The CFB was probably cooked part way, then they were battered and deep fried. Yum!
