Just wondering if anyone here has any experience with this piece of equipment? I was thinking of acquiring one, but sheesh they are expensive.

All I know about it is this---just down the road from my home there is a Gas Station/convienence store that uses one with meat that is from the owners brothers ranch--the burgers are GREAT. The store is right where the exit to Highway 69 ---we run the Oklahoma Blues Hall of Fame and open our pre-WW2 juke joint on the first saturday of the month---our drummer and several others drive down here for that and it has become a "must stop" for quite few of our musician and fans------ and---- when we do our festival and have lots of folks here for the set up--we stop in there often---even though they can only do two at a time there is never a long wait--even when 8 or 10 of us stop in. They are fast--easy to use and make a great juicy burger.

A flat plate panini grill will actually do the same thing (maybe better) and are way cheaper on EBAY. I saw a demo of the smokarama a couple years agp and it seemed too fussy to me.

          I love this line:
Cooks out calorie laden fat but retains the delicious natural juices.

Yeah, honestly we can't afford one anyway. I was just intrigued by the speed and the fact that it didn't require a hood.

We're using a George Foreman griddle right now because someone told me that non-commercial appliances didn't need a hood, but it clearly wasn't made to hold up to the usage we demand of it. The power cable (which has the temperature dial on it) burnt out in about six months, and now we are limping by with it somewhat jerry-rigged until I figure out what to do next.

I sure would like to taste some product of either of the two machines as I would the Orion which seems to have a cultish following.
