Really looking forward to this. I think I missed last year's because I had been awake for 36 hours straight and had to go to bed. After seeing the pictures though staying up for several more hours would have been worth it.

There is a very distinct possibility that I cannot, after all, make this shindig.
My sister decided on that day to have my niece's 16th birthday party.

What's the timeframe of the birthday party?  Any chance you could visit it first for a little while?  I can't imagine your sister being too upset over you leaving early to go to a "wedding reception"...

I think, if I time it right, I may actually be able to make it, a bit late, though.
My sis needs to get her act together and pick a time for the party.

My niece is turning 16 too, but her party is this coming Sunday. Whew! Just missed a conflict by exactly one week!

In the Sterns' book "Real American Food" there is a recipe for Shockingly sweet stewed tomatoes...It has 28oz. of tomatoes, 8 slices white toast, 8 Tablespoons of butter, And 1 CUP of sugar!!! Yowza,it is super sweet but very very tasty.  It is from Hap Townes in Nashville...I fear that they have closed though...sigh. 

Sounds like a perfect side dish for anybody but me.  Who's bringing it?

We've been diligently working on perfecting our eye of newt souffle recipe. Unfortunately, the newts have been uncooperative, so it's back to the drawing board.

I think newts are out of season, they are currently being imported from South America and the quality suffers because of the long transport time (newts get board easily).

I believe Stouffers make an eye of newt copy cat that you can find in the frozen food section. Just don't read the ingredient list.

I don't think that any additional publicity is needed.  Between Tweets and Facebook, word really gets around. 

In past years Roadfooders have showed up that we didn't even know.  They are now some of our best friends.

It's the only one we make now.

While the forecast will most likely change, currently the predicted high is 72 and there's a 10% chance of rain.  That would be ideal weather.
