Smoked drinks

Had a delicious "Smoked Old Fashioned" yesterday & it was goooood. I looked on line and realized that smoking cocktails is an "in" thing. How anyone else had a smoked drink?

I recently had a smoked strawberry shrub.  What a fantastic taste that had.  I've tried to replicate it but haven't been successful yet.  I had my drink at the Bone Garden in Atlanta, GA and unfortunately I only had one as they had run out of the shrub by the time I ordered my second drink.

I've had a Spanish Coffee cocktail that included freshly-smoked cinnamon.

Delicious! I'd have one right now...if it wasn't so damn strong.

I had a smoked whiskey sour at the Old Kentucky Bourbon Bar across the river from Cincinnati in Covington, KY. It had several types of (mild) smoked chili peppers in the infusion among other things. It was terrific. I plan on having another very soon. This is, by the way, a great place if you're in our area.

Smoked beer (Rauchbier) is an acquired taste and sounds strange but once you try it, you're hooked. Tasty stuff.

I'd love to try this cocktail but...I think I  would run as fast as I can.

An interesting way to combine drinking and smoking into one, easy package. Now we just have to figure out a way to include sex?

Guess you could cheat and rim a margarita glass with smoked salt.

Drinks like this just never have tripped my trigger. This trend lately of chefs sticking their nose into the bartenders job sort of irritates me. I guess since I have both bartended and cooked. How would a chef like it if some bartender suddenly came back in his kitchen and stared messing with the food. Just pour me a vodka and soda and pour it like you are making it for yourself. As long as I am talking about bartenders, none of that "flair" business please and don't forget to tip your bartender. :)
