Funny weather in Knoxville.  We have had intense cold for the entire month of December and yesterday it was 62F.  We have had intense rain overnight ruining the midnight revelers in downtown Knoxville as they were suppose to have fireworkks and all kind of things at midnight.  It started raining at 11:15PM on New Years eve and has been raining ever since.  Temp is now 51F.

Roz and I went out last evening to the Outback and it waas double packed.  We sat at the bar and order horse dervers with some of their famous Black Opal.  We got cocunut shrimp, blooming onion, char grill shrimp and some of their chicken wings.

We came home and started watching a ball game and went to sleep and woke up at 11:00PM and enjoyed the TV until 1:00AM

Happy New Years everyone.

If the rain stops, I will get out today but I am not getting my clean cars trashed.

Don't know how Indy missed the big snow.  This has been the snowiest, coldest December since 1977.  Then on January 26th, we had the great blizzard of 1978.
I hope that our cold & snowy December does not we will have a another blizzard in January or February of 2011.
On a personal note, my 3rd baby was due on January 26th, 1978, so I was 9 months pregnant during the blizzard.  We had a neighbor who had a 4 wheel drive Ford Bronco(not many 4 wheel drives in 1978).  It was 3 days until the side streets were plowed(one lane).  All the guys in our neighborhood shoveled a path from our house to the street & parked the Bronco at my door.  Luckily, Joe was not born until 2/14/1978, but I was ready either for a home birth(had a neighbor who was a Dr) or a snowy ride the the hospital.
I think I will stock my blizzard pantry this week.

Last night we had terrible thunderstorms, tornado warnings, wind, torrential rain. Bar and restaurant people say it really cut into their expected big night, but many people (the sane ones) were reluctant to venture out.

Well...in 24 hours we went from 50F and raining to 13F (wind chill -3F) and snowing.  Still not that much snow on the ground, but there's certainly a nice layer of ice wreaking havoc.
