Here in Brick NJ, my road is still not plowed this tuesday morning. We had over 25 inches. Will be continuing to shovel our long driveway today. We had drifts up to my teenagers neck...some in the driveway!!!!Mall closed yesterday and the state of emergency in New Jersey kept most off the roads...How are you other snowed in doing?

North Dakota here. The sides of my driveway are already waist high and there's still 4 more months of snow coming. Par for the course.

It missed us in Syracuse, but we've already had six feet so far...so in other words everything is normal here, except for stranded travelers at the airport who were traveling through eastern hubs.

Louisville- It went around us to the south. We got 2-3 inches over Christmas eve. enough to make the place look nice for the holiday. Light-powdery snow disappeared off the roads quickly. Now they are saying the New Years storm will be all rain and a high of 60 on Dec 31...Go Figure ! I guess that new snowblower is really a deterrent !

We had hoped for the couple inches predicted Christmas Day, but all we got was flurries in the air and cold wind.

My neighbors in Milwaukee proper ( about 20 minutes east of here) have much more snow than we do( lake effect snow)Like Al, we have enough to make it look pretty and are also expecting 40s and rain by the end of the week. This has been an odd Wisconsin winter so far. But we are also known for recording breaking snowfall in April!

Glad many of you are "drift free"...I've postponed enough (checking out postings on Roadfood)...time to tackle the drifts...and clear a path so my dog can stop holding it in.......this is the worst blizzard in years here in Jersey.....hope the jersey roadfooders are coping well......

It's like there's some kind of magic force field over Michigan this year...right now it's so warm what little snow we had is melting, and it's supposed to RAIN on New Year's! I'm taking that gift, as most years with the lake effect snow I'm looking at five or so feet in the yard and a drift well above that between my house and garage. I remember more than one year where the house was buried over the roof in drifts in the front, and we couldn't leave for over a week at a stretch because no plows had made it here yet. One of the only advantages of having a condo complex built around us in place of our huge woods is the plows come all the time now.

The Knoxville area got hammered. I only got a few inches of ice and snow and very cold temps but just 9 miles from me at the airport, they got 7 inches of snow and several of my friends who live just east of the airport got 12 inches of snow. They Smoky Mountains got 2 feet. It is still on the ground but it appears that the temp is warming and we will have t-storms for Saturday. Paul E. Smith Knoxville, TN

Well, I hear NYC got "snowed" but since I am here in my second home in Santa Fe NM for the week, we have none. (Just snow dusting the tops of Sangre de Cristos mountains)

There is a college bowl game shed-you-alled for Yankee Stadium. Never having to worry about snow before they have no snow removal equipment. 20 inchs on the ground and no way to move it and no place to put it. Oy Vey !!! If George Steinbrenner were alive he would have the weather man's butt. It was suggested they have a hockey game instead. Anyone got a Zamboni to rent to the Yankees?

Latest report from Yankee Stadium. 400 guys worked all night not only the field has to be cleaned but the seats, the aisles, the parking lots----this looks like the Yankees will have a lose-lose situation---maybe Jeter will lend them a few bucks. Game is Thursday afternoon----bring your bootys to keep your tootsys warm. At least the teams---Syracuse and Kansas St have seen snow before. Good thing it wasn't San Diego St playing.

We had about 25 inches here in Scotch Plains. We've come close to that before with relatively few problems, but this time....whoo boy. Driving is a mess, there are cars abandoned everywhere, the trains to NY are hardly running, my long dead-end street is virtually impassible. What little melts on the roads during the day is turning to ice as I type this. I've yet to see a salt-spreader anywhere in town for my 12K per year in taxes. This is the first winter I am fully retired, so it's great to sit back and let everyone else worry about this, glass of wine in hand.

The Supermarkets being closed on Saturday prevented every last person from purchasing the entire stock of milk - bread - eggs - juice in time. Breakfast must be popular during blizzards.

Our dog is now happy as we cleared a path in our back yard through the 4 foot drifts. Many side roads in town still uncleared tonight...but businesses opened up today......we're now told it was one of the worst blizzards in history...and after two days of shoveling, my back agrees....oh to be with my family in palm dessert!!!!

I left Aberdeen NJ Sunday at noon. It took as long as if I was driving from Aberdeen MD. Don't ever try to drive through Staten Island when it is snowing. It is like driving through the Twilight Zone.

Good thing the pool is heated---a nice 85 degrees----otherwise the temp would be unbearable. It was 58 last evening, time to complain to the Chamber of Commerce. I did that snow shoveling, car pushing bit for 60 years ---- forgetaboutit !!!!!

I'm fine here ... The only thing I've suffered is enduring the third-string holiday week tv newscasters trying to fill up their audition reels ... sadly they are screaming about end of the world, while I used a wisk broom to dust off the car. Featherlight snow up here. The newscasters were warning viewers to get ready for the big one and that power would be out to thousands and thousands ... my friend who works at the place that controls the power got a kick out of that ... he was certain that prediction didn't come from anybody in the know. There was virtually no such outage up here, aside from the occasion power pole hit by a car type of thing ... Another baby broadcaster rant ... when they tell you to "stay home unless absolutely necessary" ... aside from the devastating effect that the false alarm could have on retailers, Edward R. Morrow would tell you that it isn't up to the newscaster or weather person to make that declaration. The only reason those words should be spoken is if the newscaster is quoting an authority. But, that kind of news basics seems to be left out of newscaster school any more. Barely related: Another no-no (as I continue on the rant) is for radio stations to use beeping horns, screeching breaks, etc in anything they broadcast, so that it doesn't distract people driving their cars ... even if it weren't TAUGHT, you'd think common sense would prevail, but today's "pros" don't know, or don't care.

On the 19th of December we headed out driving first to La Crosse, WI one night, then Indianapolis two nights and finally greater Washington, DC. We left Minnesota before another 9 inches came and set an all-time record for December snowfall. We encountered some flurries between Indianapolis and Columbus, OH. Just flurries in Burke, VA and coming home over two days we encountered no snow. Just got home a couple of hours ago. Our driveway was plowed.Glad we decided to drive a car this year and make family stops on the way and miss all the airport hassles. We normally fly to DC every other year at Christmas. The most snow we saw was in our driveway.

For the first time in my life, I saw snow on Christmas. Of course it didn't stick, but it was enough to really excite me and all the other kids.
