There are several very good seafood places within 15 miles of here that are open on Sunday. The whole intent is to meet up and socialize over good food......

Wink'sand Lexington #1 sounds like a plan. I've never been to either, but I know they would fit the bill as far as I'm concerned. Point me west the next morning and I'll leave the area a happy man. pb

September sounds good, but I'll go with the majority.

Early August is bad for me. I'm free any weekend between after the first weekend in August. The last weekend in September is also bad.

OK - I'll ask again. Who's in charge of this thing, where are we going, and what is the date?

How about organizing a get-together around one of the North Carolina bbq festivals coming up in October? Maybe some related side trips in the area.

There's the bbq festival in Lexington on October 27. http://www.barbecuefestival.com/

And the new Carolina east-west bbq showdown planned for Raleigh, October 6-7.

Gordon, the BBQ festival is a wonderful idea. After looking at both websites, I think the Lexington festival would be the most fun - they are going to have entertainment. There will probably not be any rooms available in Lexington during the festival, but Lexington is only about 25 miles from Salisbury, and there should be plenty of rooms here. You can find a list of the hotels in Salisbury here:http://maps.google.com/maps?hl=en&btnG=Google+Search&um=1&q=hotels&near=Salisbury,+NC&fb=1&view=text&sa=X&oi=local_group&resnum=1&ct=more-results&cd=2

If all who want to come will post, I will make arrangements for a Saturday breakfast meeting at Wink's, and we can make plans at breakfast for the festival.

Forget that link posted above. I don't know what happened, but what comes up is not the right page. Sorry about that - try this link instead, http://www.visitsalisburync.com/accommodations.aspx

roosy, I think we are shooting for the BBQ festival in Lexington on Oct. 27. I am going to call Wink's the week before and make arrangements for them to seat us all together for breakfast, I'm just waiting to see about how many are going to come.
