So much info on hot dogs

I am getting so much info from this board. I want to thank everyone. The local Giant has just, this week in fact, started carrying Boar's Head All Beef with natural casing. I feel like we're making some progress beyond Oscar Meyer, Kunzler and Hatfield. They've only been carrying Hebrew National Products for about a year! Also, there is a new meat department manager who I will have to have to talk to about ordering either Sabrett or Nathan's with casing. They carry the skinless varieties, just started to in the last year, as well. I have heard of Thumann's, even seen some of their products, but for the life of me I can't remember where. This is not an area full of food store chains. Giant and Weis are pretty much it, with Walmart and FoodLion and some IGAs in the immediate area. When I make an excursion to Wegman's, either to Mechanicsburg (west of Harrisburg) or Hunt Valley, MD, I will have to check out these brands that have been discussed. I never heard of any of them, and I never thought to look in the deli for hot dogs. But that makes sense, as the BH in Giant are in the deli, as is the Hebrew National.

I bought Nathan's at Wal-Mart for $3.50 a pack which sometimes Target has them on sale cheaper. I hesitated about paying $3.50 but I like Nathan's so well. I alternate between all beef hotdogs at Brats. I like both.

I agree this forum is quite informative. I signed up a few days ago but I have been reading posts since late last year.

Twinwillow Michael Hoffman Ah, the Cowardly Fairy Flagger is back. In the words of a once famous, but since forgotten ice skating queen, why?..........why? It has to be because the Fairy Flagger does not have the cojones to actually post something that would give away his or her identity -- something such as how he or she believes that posts about hotdogs, etc. do not belong in this section because this section is for places where you go to eat hotdogs, etc. It's a matter of a teeny-weeny wienie, or the equivalent in cojones. From the Website: Hot Dogs, Sausages & Bratwursts Where did you have your favorite hot dogs, sausages & bratwursts, and where can others go to find similar treats?

If you're going to a Wegmans, and haven't tried Hoffman hot dogs, you should pick some up.
