Poppy Tooker is well known to NOLA foodies, has chef's training, I believe she was part-owner, and an instructor in a cooking school before Katrina, held a regional position in the Slow Food movement, and is involved in a weekly farmer's market - Crescent City Market which is held every Sat. morning in downtown NOLA. She has a weekly radio show, Louisiana Eats. Very entertaining, and knowledgeable about NOLA's food history from it's earliest days and what's going on the city's current restaurant scene.
