Foxon Park is superb. Saw it at a place nearby in Massachusetts last week and was quite pleased.

Ski,Double Cola, Frostie Root Beer, and all the flavors of "Clem's" soda bottled by the Excel Bottling Co. in Breese, IL are all made with pure cane sugar. Surprised to see that the new Pepsi & Mountain Dew "Throwback" products haven't been mentioned- made with real sugar, and have just recently became available within the last week or so, supposedly for a "limited time only"

In the organic aisle at the Giant (local supermarket) they carry an ongoing variety of 'natural' soda made with sugar. The one that seems to sell out the most is the White Peach by White Rock. Has anyone ever tried it? The other varieties there this week are Blue Sky (made with sugar, but I couldn't find a location on the can) and Reed's sodas.

Pepsi is now making versions of at least two of their sodas with real cane sugar. They carry the designation "Throwback". We picked up Pepsi and Mountain Dew Throwback last week. Yum!

Boylan's sodas use sugar. We can get them in Publix. My favorite is the red birch beer.

The Giant in the town south of York carries Boylan's Sodas, but not Reed's or White Rock, and a bigger selection of Blue Sky. This about drives me crazy. Guess I'll have to get out this weekend and hit all the Giant's in the York area, and take notes.

Anyone have a Cost Plus World Market near them? This weeks ad has a 12 pack of soda with the following flavors made with real sugar: 3 Double Colas, 3 Suncrest Orange, 3 Bubble Up and 3 Frostie Root Beer. Also a similar item can be found at Cracker Barrel. 12 bottles made up of 3 Nesbitt's Orange, 3 Dads Root Beer, 3 Bubble Up and 3 Nugrape.

We have located a local ice cream parlor in Corydon, IN that now carries our favorite "Red Rock Ginger Ale" in 12 oz glass bottles (4-packs) I love the stuff.

Had a Thomas Kemper Root Beer yesterday whilst I was hanging out a Borders. Wondered how my stomach would take it as I haven't had any 'real' soda in about ten years! (My normal drink is totally unsweetened iced tea.) But it went down real smooth and the flavor was wonderful.

Beverly, I am surprised at how "smooth" the real sugar sweeteners make a soda ! The Red Rock Ginger Ale I mentioned above has NO HFCS just cane sugar and, although it burns from the Ginger and Carbonation, It's sweetness is really mellow. BTW the stuff I mentioned finding in Corydon, Indiana is selling for $2 a 12 oz bottle. I won't be buying much of it !

I've found both the Pepsi and Mountain Dew Throwback products (sugar, no HFCS) here in Mass. Supply is spotty, and I have seen it on sale (and sold out) at both Big Y and CVS.

I'll probably pass on both the Pepsi Throwback as well as the Mountain Dew Throwback. I never was a Pepsi fan, and as for Dew, it always tasted the way dish detergent smells! I was never one for any fruity tasting soda. But Giant has the Dew Throwback in the fridge box, not very many, and no Pepsi. It may have been sold out already. Also noticed in the local Cracker Barrel a six pack of Bubble Up (lemon-lime) in glass bottles with 'invert' sugar, and at Target, Archer Farms Root Beer and Old Fashion Ginger Beer with real sugar. Didn't take notice of the prices, though.

OK, Here's an update report on Mt. Dew Throwback. Today during our monthly Costco food-n-fuel visit, we came across Mt. Dew Throwback Soda for $4.99 a case! Good deal says me, so we grab one case to do taste tests, comparing it to current Mt Dew, Diet Mt Dew, and the Kroger Generic version "Citrus Drop". 2 points to make- Point 1. A Throwback case contains 18 cans not the usual 24, so the $4.99 price was not much of a bargain. Since Normal Pepsi products were on sale just a week ago at $5.00 a case of 24, this seems to be a pretty good profit maker! Point 2- We tasted the Throwback Mt Dew, the Regular Dew and the Generic Kroger brand, frankly could not tell much difference at all. The Diet version seemed much more carbonated, and (to me) had the dreaded diet aftertaste that keeps me off of most diet sodas. Anyone else has recent experiences comparing the new with the old sodas ??

I've never been a fan of Mt. Dew, so I'm no help there, but I really enjoy the Pepsi Throwback. I like the taste, and I'm trying to cut down on corn syrup, so I'm always on the lookout for the throwback here in SC. I can't find it in grocery stores, but I noticed that Dollar General had some individual cans the other day, so I'm going to stock up next time I'm in there. Still on the lookout for the made with sugar Dr. Pepper, Heritage Dr. Pepper.

Why does it make sense to tote cases of soda from Mexico all over the country to various Costco warehouses when there is an in-place local bottler network to make the stuff here?

rjb Why does it make sense to tote cases of soda from Mexico all over the country to various Costco warehouses when there is an in-place local bottler network to make the stuff here? CCE, the primary bottler, won't do it. If the bottle says 'Hecho en Mexico', then it is (Truth in Labeling Act, among others). For some reason, Coke is stuck with HFCS. I don't normally drink Pepsi, but will with the Throwback stuff. I haven't found it here yet, I guess I need to keep on looking.

I tried the mountan dew throwback, and to be honest, I did not like it as well! Had less taste overall, and seemed less carbonated............

OK, maybe I am not the right person for this since I drink 99% diet Pepsi, but I tried the throwback Pepsi and thought it was wretched.

If only they made the Pepsi Lite from the 80's again, I could be happy. Or even bring back Pepsi Twist. Or Pepsi Throwback Twist?
