I would like to Thank Fieldthistle for starting this, I have passed on your thoughts and prayers to my MIL. Here is what we know as of now. Her doctor is a QUACK! twice he has treated her for "pneumonia" in the same lung, same spot. Easter Saturday she went down and was bleeding from the ear, and was unresponsive. We took her to the local hospital, and they transferred her to UC (University of Cincinnati) where they did lots more testing. The "pneumonia" the jack ass has been treating was really lung cancer, it is now stage 4 and has spead from her lungs to her brain, spine (bones), spinal cord, kidney, pancreas, and stomach lining. She got to come home Friday evening, and the family has been there since. She is resting.... The prognosis is not good, and we are starting to make the preparations for what is coming. Your continued thoughts and prayers are appreciated. TYFT CajunKing Donald

Don, Our thoughts are with you during this difficult time. If you have not already talked with some of the local Hospice Organization, you may want to consider that. The Hospice folks have provided a lot of support services to our family when we encountered similar situations in the past.

CajunKing, I wish for your family, comfort, and peace for your mother-in-law. My heart and prayers are with you. Words are far too imperfect to reflect my heartfelt concerns for your loved MIL and family. MG

My God, Donald, your family must just be enraged. Goddamn some doctors to hell and back. I know you will do your best, but you are entitled to feel a lot of anger right now.

Cancer took my dad on Thanksgiving Day of 1985. Family getting sick on the holidays is no way to celebrate, but holidays are always a good time for prayer.

TYFT CajunKing Donald MIL goes for her first radiation treatment tomorrow afternoon, they are hoping to shrink the stuff in her head and give her a little more time. The stuff in the rest of her body.... chemo is not an option.

This same Quack, misdiagnosed my FIL 5 years ago, and 13 days later he died of cancer. It all seems like a bad case of Dejavu. The MIL will not get rid of him, she "trusts" him.

Since she trusts this doctor and will not rid of him although she is dying, I don't think there is anything you can do. Perhaps she knew she was very sick and kept it from the family as long as she could? I'm very sorry you have to go through this.
