Some hot dog questions. From the Charlotte area... Wed, 01/16/08 4:50 AM (permalink)
Hello everyone,
I am new to the boards here and aam glad I found a place to share my passion for a good hotdog.

Currently I am in the mist of planning an expansion of my current business. I currently sell Shaved ice and fresh squeezed lemonade at local walmarts and festivals in the chalotte area. Been told I have the best lemonade in Charlotte which I am proud off.

I want to expand my business to hotdogs and the sides that go along with it. I am a big fan of Thumans beef and pork weiners. My neighbor from NJ turned me on to them.

So I am pretty sure I will be using Thumans for my business. I was wondering if anyone in the charlotte area knows of a good bun maker. It;s so hard to find a decent bunn it seems. Any infomation would be great.

I will be visiting some of oyu guys in the charlotte area to try out your dogs and get ideas. Hope you don't mind. I will be in the denver area so I wont be stepping on no toes.

Thanks guys.

    JBH,
    What's the haps!?

Chili Man here (stationed at the corner of 4th and Tryon, weather permitting). Drop by the cart, maybe, on Friday. I believe it will not be too awfully cold. If you are looking for buns made by a pro baker (rather than the bagged Sam's variety), then you need to call Voitec (pronounced Voy-Tech) at Depalo bakery in Pineville. He is a friend, but is truely the best bread guy in this or any town around. By far the best sourdough this side of the Golden Gate bridge. Anyhow, while your downdown, you can swing by Matts, Woody's and even afew other doggies guys to get a feel for it.
If you want to get a feel for who I am before stopping by, google "chiliman charlotte" and yoiu will get a good feel for me. (And yes, I am mentioned in an article called "Sexiest Chef's in the Triangle" on another posting board, but I am neither sexy nor from the triangle. I was mentioned after the word "tattooed" came up and I am fairly well tatted).

Feel free to get int touch at chiliman@mac.com
