quote:Originally posted by enginecapt We hit a Sonic somewhere off of the 99 on our way to Fresno last month. We couldn't find any place to put the trash either. Quite possibly the worst FF burger I've ever been served, and that includes the steamed ones with the painted on grill lines I used to get back at San Clemente High School in the late 60s. Not an auspicious introduction to the world of Sonic food. I'll not be making that mistake again. Sonic's burgers, if they were ever good, are now probably the worst food you can eat, including actual roadkill. However, their Toasters sandwiches are pretty darn tasty. Although I normally only go there for milkshakes/malts. Not that I get there often (still none in Michigan), but I do make a point of it when I travel at least once.

In another RF Sonic thread I related my first experience about sitting there and watching the skaters going by me and not stopping to take my order. I finally left, not knowing you have to push a button. In any event, I have since tried a burger, not going to do that again. Cherry Limeades are good though. John

My last Sonic was back in March on the way home from WDW. The car hop had been working there for a few months according to her. She had no idea that her tray was made to hang from the window. That blew my mind. Oh well she learned something new that night. MikeS.

We have two Sonics here in town. The first one on FM78,next to the car wash and Church's Chicken. The other one is up on FM3009 and IH-35 to Austin. It's next do to Taco Cabana and Schlotsky's Sandwiches, plus the new Chili's here in Schertz. I have had pretty good luck at the ones here in town. And I do tip the car hop like a buck.I don't know what they get paid, but it's been like 102 degrees here, and they are constantly in the heat,or rain if we ever get any,so I don't mind. Haven't had any of their desserts, but I do enjoy the drinks like the cherry limade. Enginecapt,it's like a lot of chains. Some are really good or great, and the same place in another part of the country sucks. If one place in a chain sucks,I may try the same outfit just in a different location here in town,if both stink, then I don't bother with them ever again.

If they skate, I tip. Some do, some don't. If they walk up, I'll round up to the nearest dollar.
