Souper Salad! Fri, 02/7/14 12:30 AM (permalink)
Souper Salad is one of the largest soup and salad restaurant brands in the South & Southwest. Their salads, soups and fresh baked breads are prepared from scratch daily. It's comparable to a Sweet Tomatoes.
They originally opened in 1978 but changed ownership in 2011. I believe the original management let the chain fall into a poor state but current ownership is breathing new life into the operations. They're now a privately held company, headquartered in Boerne, Texas, and operate 42 locations in 7 states. Some company owned, some franchised.
We frequent the one in Mesa, AZ close to the Superstition Mall.
The food is fresh and a good value for the money. AYCE for us Seniors is a good deal. Their target market is us blue hairs and families with small children.
Do you have any in your area?
I recommend them for a good healthy meal at a reasonable price.
We ate there tonight and the bill was around $15.00, drinks, tax & tip included. (The Bride & I)
Soup, Salad, Tacos, Fresh Bread, some Pizza, and Soft Serve Dessert.

We have one and I agree, it's a very good value for the money -- especially since it's all-you-care-to-eat.  Since the ownership change, the quality has greatly improved and the health inspection scores are consistently in the 90s.  Their rosemary chicken soup is a personal favorite.

I had the Tortilla Soup. It was a little on the thin side but the flavor & ingredients were very tasty!
They also had a Chicken & Stars soup that looked good

Due to Dallas' central location there are few chains that are not represented here.  There is a Soupersalad only 12 miles from here, one of six in the Metroplex; we'll try it for Saturday lunch.  At $15. for two we can't go wrong!

No SouperSalads anywhere near here and the closest Sweet Tomatoes locations are in the Chicago area.

Perhaps they're frightened of our cheese, sausage, and beer.

There is a similar concept salad place located on Monona Dr. where Rosario's used to be.

That's right...I'd forgotten about it.  Based on the website there's a location on the far west side, too.
