We're heading east on I-90 tomorrow and would appreciate guidance for roadfood places near the interstate. Since we will be in Springfield for about 2 months, suggestions for that area would also be welcome.

If it is time to eat while in Syracuse, NY area..........it is well worth the short drive off the thruway to go to Dinosaur Barbeque in downtown Syracuse. You will not be sorry. This place is worth a special stop! Every item of food is top notch in taste and in quality and the ambiance cannot be beat.......you will love it

I can unhesitatingly recommend White Hut. It's a real scream. Not a very relaxing meal, but all the same. Westfield, which is about 10 minutes from Springfield, has a great place called the Tavern on the Square. it's in an old post office right in the center of town. And if you have time...head to Southwick, MA for the Summer House and Mrs. Murphy's donuts...and especially Granville, MA for some excellent cheese!

If you're in Springfield for that long, you'll definitely be in Northampton, so you need to go for really terrific ice cream at Herrell's. Paul and Elizabeth's is a natural foods restaurant and not very "Roadfoodish," but they do lots of things really well. Their enormous whole wheat rolls are memorable.
