South Carolina US52

I'm heading from FL to VA next Tuesday (1/20), and would love to hit a mustard-based BBQ eatery along I-95 or on US 52 from Florence north. (Eventually hitting I-73/74). Any suggestions??

Mustard based is really more central SC. Florence is vinegar. I can still give you my opinion from what I have tried. Coming up from Florida I would say try Sweatman's in Eutawville. Dukes in Walterboro is good too. The further up you go when you get into the Pee Dee area of SC (Northeast portion of SC which is the coastal plains) it's really vinegar based sauce. Cains and Jakie's in Florence are good. Schoolhouse BBQ in Scranton is good. Shuler's in Latta has good ribs. I would check the site for others comments. These places I have mentioned are pretty good with the exception of Sweatman's. Sweatman's is the best cue I have had anywhere and it is totally crafted the slow way with only wood in a smokehouse out back. It's buffet is limited but what they have is very good. I would definitely give it a try. The problem is they are only open on the end of the week. Good luck and good eating.
