Do you remember Jerry's Drive In.

A great little place for lunch or early light dinner is New Yorker Deli just a few doors east of Jerry's Drive In on E. Cervantes. I have to take the CinCHouse there a minimum of once a week.
Jerry's Cafe still has an outstanding cheese burger, the old fashion kind. Of course McGuire's has everything from great steaks on down to snacks. They have all kinds of burgers and they are hearty so bring appetite for those.
Jerry's Cajun on 9th Ave continues even better after he re built after the fire.....
Joe Patti's Seafood market is grand as ever, but Frank is a real stickler on making sure nothing is sold that could possibly have been oiled, so he is presently flying in great stuff from the non affected areas. There is no visible oil in the reopened fishing areas, but Frank is very suspicious the chemical dispersants may be present. This entire oil thing has been (I will choose my words carefully here) NOT accurate OR above board by either the company OR the government..... This will be in litigation for many years and the eco damage will be long lasting...
If Frank sells it, expect the highest quality. Even from all the re opened fishing areas he says NO. He distrusts the testing of the product. Frank would close down rather than compromise his quality or reputation.... I think he is "over killing it" but that is Frank, better safe than sorry...
Generally you can eat quality seafood in the Pensacola area with no concern for quality in my opinion. I have no qualms about eating seafood in our "quality" restraunts
The Coffee Cup has gone down somewhat in my opinion but that's just me. Still some good ole fashioned small cafe chow and still good but I am very disappointed in the coffee. Man if a place called The Coffee Cup can't keep the java tasty.... well that is not a good thing.
For a very good breakfast (also they serve lunch and dinner) is Highway 90 Cafe across the street (Cervantes again) from the presently closed Skopelos. A lengthy ownership problem still grinds through the court system until it is resolved
Gus keeps busy with the Highway 90 and another on demand/catering place in the same area. Skopelos was and will again be one of the better restraunts in Northwest Florida. We are all hoping the estate thing will be settled soon so Gus can come back to his previous high station in our area.
