I sometimes make what is known as a Ry Cooder with orange bitters and cranberry juice with Southern Comfort. Any other great ideas?

I have this old little booklet called “Top Twenty Drinks.” It must have been put out by Southern Comfort because the first 19 consists of standard cocktails with the standard booze replaced with Southern Comfort. I do not know how old it is but the people in its pictures are all wearing leisure suits. It has a few others after the 19 like: #20 Scarlett O’Hara – same as Ry Cooder above except lime instead of bitters Southern Comfort, lime and pineapple juice SC and Schweppes bitter lemon SC, tequila & OJ SC & Amaretto

I tended bar {part time} for well over 30 years, and still make a guest apperance now and then. The only beverage that would make me turn my head when pouring was Sothern Comfort. For some reason the aroma just never sat well with me. Thank goodness it wasn't all that popular my last 20 years or so. Chow Jim

Trader Vic recommended putting piece of canned apricot in a champagne flute, adding a shot of Southern Comfort, and then filling it up with champagne. We made a bunch of these for a party once, and they went over pretty well.

My Father (RIP) was noted for his Mint-Juleps...Using S C in place of the traditional Bourbon. I was very young when he passed away, and have always wondered if a crazed Fanatic from Louisville did him in for the heresey he performed on the Julep. I have tried them and S C is not meant to be a part of that recipe ! S C is a sippin' beverage, Straight Up or on the Rocks. I can only do small amounts of it before reaching the end of "Good Taste".

I'm not partial to flavored whiskey. The peachy smell of Southern Comfort is off putting to me. I had a friend who was my only customer to drink the stuff. We kept it in stock until she passed away. I think I still have the same bottle still in the bar after so many years. Needless to say it is not a very popular drink here in AZ. David O.

I haven't tried SC in about 30 years. Not missing anything I'm sure.

Best to throw that bottle away, it dose have a shelf life after opening. Besides probably has some fruit flies in there, they love that stuff. Chow Jim
