Thanks, your truck is looking great! You said it's pretty easy to patch the grey water tank before. Any advice?

Patch? I assume that you mean to plumb it in with your sink drains and your waste water dump valve. I'm actually going to check out an old Winnebago that I bought years ago (for the 440) so I'll hopefully be able to rob parts from it and let you know. My gas fitter is also stopping by today so if you have any specific questions I can ask him. The system itself is really simple on paper but like I mentioned, I'll be tackling all this stuff next week.

Yes sir, just patch the tank after cutting the oversized hole for the bulkhead.

Just received our cabinet/countertop renderings from Wilbur Davis Studios. We are super excited about having them craft our countertop/cabinet solution. Materials will be starboard and mahogany all okayed by the health department.

Wow, you are killing it on the build. You can never have to many wall outlets.

SplitMyBanana, will you post a couple of pics of how you vented your LP water tank on the outside of the truck.  I want to do a straight vent out the top as well.  Do you have a vent hood on the pipe?  What did you use to seal the pipe since it's coming through your roof and not out the side of the vehicle? Thanks

Thanks chefboy we are in the final stretch so I'll post some updates soon. We mounted our freezer, electrical is all done, putting the cab back together.

BiggE - I cut a 3 inch hole to fit the double walled thimble(came with the ecotemp water heater) and the instructions called for high temp caulking. I actually have to redo the pipe that comes through the roof. I'll post some pics when it's all done.

Here's a few shots from our countertop/cabinetry install. Sprint to the finish line for a May 2nd opening!

Nicely done!!!! The final throw-down will probably involve some late nights I would assume. My deadline is mid-May as well since we have a huge wedding season lined up. Just knowing that there is a deadline really does ramp up the work schedule I find. Are you going to mount banana hooks all over the place or are they typically frozen for what you're serving? IT would be good to see your menu at some point.

Thanks Polara! Definitely some late nights ahead. Out where we are, we are required to have a licensed plumber complete all the plumbing so that takes a little off of our shoulders. I love the banana hook idea we have fresh and frozen, fresh for smoothies frozen for dipping. You can check out our menu here http://www.splitmybanana.com/menu/. We are still working on more recipes. How's your build coming?

I'll take a 16oz peanut butter cup smoothie please. My build is coming along nicely. Electrical is mostly done and I should have my plumbing finished in the next couple of days. Still waiting on my gas fitter to hook up my propane then I'm really just down to the short strokes. Besides polishing the entire exterior and graphics of course but that's purely esthetics. I haven't been bothering with updates on my page since you and chefboy are the only ones that comment anyways. Pretty excited to have it out and about though.

Haha I'm not down. I just sort of blew it off that I wasn't posting things about baseball or unrelated food truck info that people here want to read. As a matter of fact I'm about to update my page right now for both of your viewing pleasure.

We're open! We passed all of our health inspections and had our soft opening this past weekend. We 'll be using this following weekend as well to prepare for our grand opening on the 16th. Cheers!

Hell Yah!!!! Congradulations, you're an inspiration to all your fellow truck builders here. So, was that a "soft serve opening"? I know, I'm not funny. At least I amuse myself though.

Congrats!!!  I started my truck build a few weeks ago.  Hopefully I'll be a member of the FoodTruck Nation in a few more weeks.  You definitely inspire us all to make it happen...without paying the mobile food truck builders an arm and a leg.  Dedication, persistence and a lot of hard work definitely pays off.  Congrats again and I wish you much success.

Yes sir, that's the plan. Ribbon cutting and the whole shebang! 80 confirmed going so far + the event the opening is at is a draw itself with 400+ people. We're pumped!
