Start Up Info

Earlier, I had posted a question regarding how to find a commissary...in particular for Lake County Florida, is there any suggestions here as to whom one can call ?

Sorry you haven't recieved an answer, perhaps the question is to specific. All I can suggest is consulting with the local health inspector/dept or perhaps talk to other local vendors

I believe that you can start with the Lake County Health Department.

Here is the link to the Environmental Health page for Lake County Florida.

Ask to speak to a sanitarian (food inspector) or the section supervisor. They know the permitted commissaries in your area.

Thanks to all for the response, I appreciate it...

I was thinking that when I take the unit for inspection that it would be best to ask the inspectors. Great advice from all of you, and thanks...

In most states, Costco is considered a commissary. In Arizona, we can serve restaurant food because a restaurant is an approved food preparation facility. Good luck with it!

Typically your first inspection must take place at your commissary, so you'll need to find one before then. Try web searches, yellow pages, ask the health dept or better yet stop and ask a local MFDV who they use.

try google.com and then type in commissary and then the area code for the city you are looking for.Almost everytime you will get solid answers. Most people do not put the area code and this helps for a specific location.

    Thanks todd
