Went to the Steak 'n Lube in Charlotte and found it closed since late January (according to the sign on the door). I'm not sure if this is a national chain or not, but we thought it had fairly good food.

LOL. That's a rather unusual name for a restaurant.

Quaker Steak & Lube is a midwest and east coast chain out of Pennsylvania. It's themed for gearheads and bikers.

They had a neat decor, mostly older and antique motorcycles, classic cars, like a '57 Chevy, and older race cars hanging from the ceiling. The bikers I've seen there were mostly an older crowd with big-buck looking bikes, no Hell's Angels types.....at least not in Charlotte.

I suprised the one in Charlotte is closed. I tried to go three times and the place was crowded with bikers.

I looked in through the glass doors on Sunday afternoon and the place was closed and basically gutted. I'm talking about the one near Park and Woodlawn. The sign on the door said they were closing as of January 28. Maybe there are 2 in Charlotte?

I was thinking the one near Concord by the track. I had thought if that one closed then maybe others had closed also and there was trouble in the chain.

The original in Sharon, Pa., which is still quite good is almost always packed. Most of the other ones here in the Pittsburgh area, which aren't nearly as good, are also quite busy.
