Steaming Cheese Dogs??

Hey all... Today I found Hilshire Farm Cheddar Wurst (smoked sausage with Wisconsin cheese inside) and Nathan's Cheddar Cheese Smoked Sausage (made with beef & pork... with cheese inside). I'm hoping to throw them into the steamers (like the regular dogs) and see if that works out.
Both have instructions for grilling, microwaving (eww), or boiling... nothing about steaming.
Anyone have (good or bad) experiences with working with either of these items... or similar ones???
