Don't know why I havent been able to get anyone to respond to my post in BBQ reference the old Stubbys Hickory Pit Barbeque in Hot Springs Arkansas. (The old one not the newer one!) The cole slaw there (70's) was mouth watering just thinking about it....even thirty some years after the fact. I am just looking for someone who either has a memory of this slaw and/or a similar recipe of it. Its hard to describe.....tart, tangy mouth watering and just down right delicious!! If someone...anyone can just answer me about the slaw I would be a happy camper! Hit me up at whizzz@aol.com Thank you and Happy New Year, Dan

Why don't you just ask Stubby? After 30 years, there may not be too many here who remember it or have tried it.

Wow, thanks for the memory jog! My soon-to-be wife and I (armed with an almost new edition of the first Roadfood Book) stopped at Stubby's in about 1980 on our way to Texas from NY. I don't remember the cole slaw but what I do remember is the Baked Potato, against which we have measured every single baked potato we have eaten since then, and none have come close. So, what has happened at Stubby's since 1980? I take it from your post that they have moved. Is Stubby still there? ---Ken
