Actually CTF, Middle Eastern cooking uses a lot of mint in the recipes so I think that a Kool probably will compliment a tabbouleh salad very nicely.

Claracamille--bless your soul.  I love your ansestors, love your devotion and love the low fat diet.  Weight to go !!

Gray And Kozel  when in despirate need of a camel dinner I head for the Oasis Diner  in Westchester NY (forgot which town) had lots of "dates" there also.

Both of my grandparents lived long lives.  My grandmother died when she was 87.  My grandfather died at 101, his sister at 102.
Even when my grandparents stopped active farming, my grandmother still cooked with fresh milk, butter, eggs, lard, etc. that she got from nearby farms.
So much for high fat foods causing heart problems, etc.  Breakfast was a huge meal with sausage, home cured ham ,eggs, hot bread with butter.  Dinner(the biggest meal of the day) & supper were full of fat.  But, also full of fresh or canned or frozen fruits & vegetables.
I am so blessed to remember them & the their farm life.

Yes, I sometimes wonder about nutrition experts.  When Julia Child (who lived to age 91) was asked to what she credited her longevity, she replied, “red meat and gin.”

I don't  eat that much red meat, so I guess that I  should  drink a lot more gin!
