Suggestions for Greenville / Jamestown PA area? Fri, 08/7/09 6:11 PM (permalink)
Soon headed to Jamestown PA; will be staying in Greenville. I searched the site but didn't see any close-by recommendations. I'd be grateful for any good suggestions you might have!

Well just in case someone else looks for something in this area in the future, we did find a great place to eat! I don't know that it would be classified as 'roadfood'; it was a little higher end but a great value for the money!

We ate at the Springfield Grille outside of Mercer PA. Get there early 'cuz it gets pretty jammed up on summer weekends. This was actually my second time eating there in three years and both times were great!

    Here's a link to their website: http://www.springfields.c./sgm_files/sgmercer.html

Just a little further south of the Springfield Grille on Rte. 19 are two other fine restaurants, The Iron Bridge Inn and Rachel's Roadhouse.  They are also part of the same ownership as Springfield Grille.

I apologize for not seeing this thread before or I would have made some suggestions for you.

In Sharon, PA is the original Quaker Steak & Lube.  Although I'm not generally a fan of this wing chain, my visits to this location have always been good.  In nearby Hermitage is Combine Brothers, a very casual place with really good Italian.

I have had some fine breakfasts before hitting the outlets at the Grove City Diner in Grove City.

A little further away in Slippery Rock, I love the eclectic food and homey atmosphere of Wolf Creek School Cafe.  This place is a favorite of mine.  Also in Slippery Rock is North Country Brewing.

I'm sure I will think of some more and add them later.
