Sunshine Raisin Biscuits - substitute?

Hi all -

In the last few months I've been craving what I think were called Sunshine Raisin Biscuits. Very, very thin cookie sandwiching a thin layer of raisin "paste". At the Keebler website, they indicate these as being discontinued - but there's no picture to confirm they are even what I'm thinking of.

If they are the same, and therefore discontinued, does anyone know of a similar cookie? Maybe even a British one since they have so many kinds of "biscuits"?

Thanks,
Tom

I know what your talking about & recently went looking for them to satisfy a craving. I haven't been able to find them either.. Always took for granted they would be there. Hopefully someone out there will know of a source for them.

    Thanks,
    Tom

Garibaldi Raisin Biscuit Bars at www.vermontcountrystore.com might be a good substitute for what you are looking for. Vermont Country Store carries lots of older foods that you can't find anymore. Also, look at www.hometownfavorites.com. Hope you find what you are looking for!

You are most welcome, ocdreamr! You might see something else that you like at Vermont Country Store...candies, mostly. They are not cheap, but it depends on how hungry you are for these oldies but goodies! They do provide good service though...I have ordered from them several times and have never had a problem.

I have been looking for Sunshine Raisin biscuits for years!!! They were my favorite cookie as a kid. My grandmother would buy them for me and I can still taste them! I googled them, and finally found what is the closest thing to them - Girabaldi cookies from Vermont Country Store. I paid about 20 bucks for 5 packages, which is way too much for cookies, but when I got them, I was so excited!!! They are great, and will bring you back to being a kid!

There was another similar cookie that I've been looking for, but this one had whole raisings embedded in the cookie. Does anyone remember those? I think it was also a Sunshine product. I can't remember the name of the cookie.

Ranger Steve, I think I remember those raisin cookies and I just talked to my Mom and she thinks she does, too. Were they soft sugar cookies with the raisins on top? We wondered if they were made by Archway since they made soft cookies when other cookie companies didn't.

I found a cookie called Sultana biscuits at an oriental supermarket that was very similar to those Sunshine raisin cookies. It was very inexpensive also.
