Survey! White Castle Vs. Mcdonalds`

Which fast food chain would you rather eat at, Mcdonalds or White Castle. Which tastes better, has better atmosphere, etc... Thank you your answer will be included in a debate.

Tough question!
My first responce off the bat would be WC hands down!
I have a habit of over-doing it at WC. So after I endulge, its usually atleast a year before going back. But I do dream of them once a month!

Sorry, but, I doubt that I am much help. It would depend where I am and what I want. The only thing I go to McD's for is the $1 double cheeseburger. I don't have a White Castle close by. When I travel if there is a WC then thats my 'choice'. However, if I had both available to me all the time, I would probably split 50/50, depending on my mood.

I don't indulge in "fast food" too often, as I live in an area where there are plenty of great independent places, not to mention some darn good "roadfood", but when I DO want a fix, it's White Castle. NOTHING tastes like those litle belly bombers.

I'll take a White Castle anytime. For one thing, the White Castle product actually has taste, unlike any of the McDonald's stuff. As to atmosphere, well, how can anyone not prefer the ambience offered by any White Castle? After all, the smell of beer and whiskey is not something you can find often in a McDonald's. And they don't have anywhere near the number of falling-down drunks in a McDonald's.

Otherwise - WC

Sober- Mcdonalds
Drunk- White Castle

We don't have WC here, we have Krystal. Since Krystal is somewhat comparable to a WC, I'd say I would choose WC. I did have a double cheeseburger from Mickey D's two weeks ago because my daughter wanted to go there. It was horrible. It must have been sitting there for hours, the bun was just short of being hard, the meat..

My last few McDs double cheeseburgers (for a buck) were very good for what they are. Someplace on RF we have a whole thread defending them. I have never been to a WC, Krystal or In n Out. I guess I am missing out. Anyway, welcome to RF, zmfizzle. Come on back after your debate.

First choice would be neither. Depending on where I am, I'd go for Mug 'n Bun, or maybe In and Out, or Steak and Shake.
Second choice would be White Castle, especially late at night...for fast food, they have a lot of character. McDonald's is edible enough, even tasty sometimes, but it's just a burger. Ehhh.

I have never run into them being that bad. However, I special order EXTRA ONION & NO PICKLE, so mine have to be made fresh. Not too bad for a buck when you are in a hurry.

You must be kidding? They take that same old tired burger and take off the pickle and throw on some extra onions..............and that is your "special order"!

The only thing I will eat at McD's is the yougrt and Grape Nuts 'parfait'.

Definetly WHITE CASTLE!

Never even been to a WC and I pick them. I'd go hungry before I'd eat at McD's... burpin' that taste up all night is no fun.

White Castle in a heartbeat. The ones I have been to are usually clean (it's all the white!), the people are nice and the food is good. Plus, the customers tend to be an eclectic mix, from college students to families to the poor hungover guys in the middle of the night. If you're a people watcher, like I am, this kind of atmosphere is heavenly.

The Castle is comfort food for me. My mother worked there when I was a little girl, and she would always bring home some. It was a sign of security for me, I think.

Even now that I live in Mississippi and the closest Castle is in Nashville: if I had my way, I would drive to Nashville for a Slyder before I would go to a McDonald's around the corner.

Neither one for me. If you put a gun to my head I would choose WC just because of the nostalgia value.

I start work early, around 4 am and just down the block are a WC and a Mac's, both open 24/7. WC is VERY iffy with their food. Usually dried out leftovers. I know one manager's car in the parking lot and i'll drive thru when she's there because the Sliders are fresh. OTOH Mac's directly across the street is always fresh grill- always. Should be cause it's 500 feet from Ray Kroc's McDonald's Museum adjacent to there. WC when they're fresh and steamed or Mac's when they're not. Or the dreaded 7 Eleven, or i'll just pack a lunch...

Krystal's just folded in my area (NO WC available...) McDee's in my area too cheap to offer 99 cent DCB's or $1.29 TCB's. I'm in a PANIC mode, now...

Which ever one serves beer.

Krystal, WC, McDee's, etc., doesn't serve BEER. They serve DRUNKs maybe, but no BEER. Ah. I'll wait until 3 AM tomorrow morning & go to my local WH. The best of both worlds awaits me.

McDonald"s. I had an unfortunate experience the only time I ate at White Castle.

And, since it's a pub, they have a fully stocked bar, with beers on tap and a decent wine selection...especially for a pub.

No need for McD's or White Castle or Roy Rogers, Hardee's etc etc anymore for me!

White Castle, no doubt about it. McDonalds food is not tasty but it is a good place to buy coffee, sit down and read a newspaper. It is also a convenient place to use a restroom.

I love them White Castels. Seems like theres one on near every corner in these parts and I can barly make it past without the smell forcing me in. Them french burgers wasn't very tasty though.

White Castle burgers should never be eaten while sober!
McDonalds burgers should never be eaten.....
