Syrup, Honey .... or Not

Do you use syrup and/or honey at breakfast? Personally, I'm not a big syrup fan, or for that matter a big honey fan either. I will admit to favoring good blueberry syrup a bit when I was a kid (on blueberry pancakes of course) ... and when I went to Bill Knapp's I'd try some honey on my second re-order of biscuits (the bottomless biscuit basket they quietly had going) ... but now-adays, breakfast sausages made with maple syrup is about as far as I'll go, or maybe a bit on top of the sausages. I use honey in baking - particularly when I make "Olga" bread or baklava or pignolata ... but seldom for breakfast.

It's 100% pure maple syrup at my house. Once in a while I'll use vanilla sugar on french toast, usually where there's no maple syrup in the fridge.

french toast, pancakes or waffles pretty much require syrup IMO but I seldom eat them for brkfst, occasionally as brunch but more often for dinner. Theres always a jar of honey on the counter, a p-nutbutter and honey sandwich makes a great energy booster. Honey gives a cuppa joe a unique flavor and poured over ice cream...ambrosia.. add to bbq sauce or salad dressings and beyond all its culinary uses it also makes a great dressing for minor cuts and scrapes

I use sugar free syrup. I have high triglycerides and high cholesterol. Not the same as the real stuff, but it does the job. I like to cut up my sausage, put it in with my bowl of grits, top it (lightly) with the syrup, and then dip my rye toast into it! Mmmmmmm..................... I do have honey in the house, but just keep it in case a recipe calls for it. My brother and sis in law dont even buy refined sugar. They only use honey.

I love sorghum syrup and butter mixed together. I sop it up with a biscuit. I don't do it often though, I'd be as broad as a barn!

I'm with Mr. Hoffman.. I use Maple Syrup on my pancakes (Flapjacks), and a field honey (with butter) on my biscuits. Only thing lacking in your question is which variety of Syrup or Honey your talking about... Considering the vast amount of offerings out there.. (And the added Blueberry dont count).
